  1. This is the first time I've seen one of your videos, but I'm rather surprised that you don't know what hash is. I'll be happy to share the definition with you;
    1. a dish of diced or chopped meat and often vegetables, as of leftover corned beef or veal and potatoes, sautΓ©ed in a frying pan or of meat, potatoes, and carrots cooked together in gravy.

    If it doesn't have meat, it's not hash.

    Hash browns, or hashed browns, on the other hand, is the one exception. In this case it's the potatoes that get hashed.

  2. One of the greatest potato hash recipes I've used. I have made it several times now and I get a bit creative every time, but the fundamentals of the recipe are what allow the dish to be delicious every time.

  3. Hi Laura, greetings from Australia, and a big "thank you" for your potato hash recipe. It was my job to cheer up my not-very-well 88-year-old mother-in-law by cooking her a nice meal at her place for her, and while it was easy to make her day with her favourite crumbed lamb cutlets and lightly steamed green vegetables, it was your potato hash that made the meal special, introducing something new that she really liked. I actually cooked the hash in advance at home, then took it up to her place and reheated it in the oven, and that worked really well. Such a simple recipe, my wife said I could cook it anytime from now on.

  4. I made these. I loved these. They were AMAZING! I did tweak the recipe a bit though. Instead of using olive oil I used butter and the left over bacon grease that I had (I know, I was being so bad!!) IT WAS SO GOOD!
