On this week’s Fix Me a Plate, Food Network star Alex Guarnaschelli is heading to Chinatown.

At Nom Wah Tea Parlor, they serve up a vast variety of faire, from egg rolls, to almond cookies, and, of course, tea. Watch as Alex makes her very first egg roll, the “OG” egg roll, that has been around since 1929.

  1. As a child, my parents used to bring us to Nom Wah for special occasions like mother's day. We'd have tea and dim sum. I took my son there a few years back and we had dim sum. I was thrilled to be able to share the place and my memories with him (even though it looked so different than the restaurant as a child.)

  2. What a breath of fresh air, the background of the differences, and the memories are the same, yet there is this consent that the old school brings together the remembrances of all. We never go astray from the new and we do not deviate from the distant. What a beautiful representation of the now. I wish you well, Long Vie Chef.
